This policy covers riffipedia.com, which is operated by Riffipedia LLC, a New York limited liability company ("Riffipedia", "we", "us").

What we collect

If you create an account: your email address and the profile details you choose to share (display name, bio, links). If you submit a riff: the riff, its files, and metadata. If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address. If you report content: whatever you put in the report, including an optional contact email.

Uploaded videos

Phone videos carry hidden details such as the location where they were recorded and the device used. We strip that metadata when we process an uploaded video, the same as we do for gear photos. The original file is deleted after processing; the processed copies are stored with Cloudflare (see below).

Analytics without cookies

We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service that uses no cookies and stores no personal data — we see page counts, not people.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase — database, login, and file storage
• Vercel — website hosting
• Resend — transactional email (login links, riff status updates)
• Kit — the newsletter list (double opt-in; every email has an unsubscribe link)
• Plausible — cookieless analytics

The one cookie we do set

When you arrive through a player's link — a link with ?ref=in it, or their profile address — we set a first-party cookie for 30 days that records only which player shared the link, so they get credit if you join. It isn't used for anything else and it isn't shared with anyone.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, run ads, or share your email with other members. Public pages show only what you chose to make public.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime via the link in any email. To delete your account and data, email riffs@riffipedia.com and we'll handle it.
